Code of Conduct

  • 1. The Code of Conduct is being adopted by our agents to establish standards of conduct in the industry. The concept of “ethics” generally includes references to standards, including legal standards and personal moral standards. The Code of ethics applies towards: Duties to Client and Customers, Duties to fellow agents and Duties to the Public
  • 2. The Code of Conduct prohibits exaggeration, misrepresentation and concealment of pertinent facts about the property or the transaction and agents must exercise skill, care, competence, and diligence at all times when carrying out real estate work.
  • 3. Code of Conduct requires agents to respect agency relationships that other agents have with their clients. Under no circumstance may an agent talk to or interact, negotiate and discuss real estate matters with the client of another agent - unless and until mutually agreed upon.
  • 4. Agents have an obligation to protect and promote the interests of their clients. Agents would make themselves available to the client in a timely manner and keep the client informed of all progress during their engagement. Further retain records of services performed for the client and provide these to the client on request.
  • 5. Disclose all relevant information to the client, both positive and negative. Advise and counsel clients based only on their own professional experience, knowledge and judgement and on the results of research and enquiries.
  • 6. Thoroughly research through all available and potential sources about the targeted property and its surroundings to discover all material information and provide all relevant information to the client in a truthful and forthright manner without bias or exaggeration. Further shall not knowingly or recklessly make false or misleading statements about the property or any other related matters.
  • 7. Have a written agreement with each client, specifying the services to be provided, fees and payment schedule, the term of the agreement and the client's options and obligations for termination of the agreement. Help the client in all the services as agreed to be offered by you, document the process and provide support to the client at all times.
  • 8. Always act in the best interests of the clients, never do anything that might jeopardise the client’s bargaining position or other interests and not disclose client’s confidential information, unless authorised to do so.
  • 9. Do not undertake specialised services for which they are not qualified or licensed and make it clear to the client that they are not a substitute for professional, legal or financial advice (unless qualified to provide that advice or service)
  • 10. Always act in accordance with the client’s lawful instructions and not engage in any practice or take any action inconsistent with the laws.
  • 11. Do not deny equal professional services to any person or discriminate against any person for reasons of race, colour, religion, sex, handicap, familial status, or national origin.
  • 12. Shall represent only true facts about themselves on their Digital Profile created by Monest and endeavour to use the Monest platform for all client interactions and request each client to rate and review them on the Monest platform.
